The Fine Arts Festival is a gathering of the Northern California CSI schools, for the purpose of allowing students to share their talents in the areas of speech, instrumentals, vocal, visual arts, writing and technology. The event creates a greater interest and appreciation for the distinctive cultural value of life as represented in these fields stressing humility of heart and mind for gifts God has given for our use and His Glory.
The SJCS Association is the over arching group of parents, community members, supporting churches, staff and faculty that are interested in the operations of SJCS. The Association currently has approximately 50 members and holds one annual business meeting each year. The 2017 meeting is scheduled for Monday May 15 at 7pm in the SJCS auditorium. The agenda is not set at this time. General topics that are covered include: Board Nominations, Budget update for the current year and budget proposal for the next plus any charter or policy changes to school operations.
SJCS Spring Concert (sometimes the Concert on the Green) is open to all SJCS families, friends and the local community. The event location will be announced in early April. Come and enjoy a time of music and singing lead by the SJCS music department. This is a wonderful way to see the phenomenal music program at SJCS. following groups perform at the event: 4th grade recorder band, 5th grade beginning band, 6th band, 7th-8th concert band, SJCS Jazz Ensemble and the SJCS choir.
SJCS Jazz Show is a culminating event for the Jazz Ensemble. The show is held at SJCS in the auditorium and 110 tickets are available. This show sells out, so be sure to secure your tickets early. All Jazz music lovers are encouraged to attend. Special note: Many SJCS alumni return to contribute to this wonderful SJCS tradition.
The CPTA (Christian Parent Teacher Association) provides a number of exciting opportunities for interested parents and families to become actively involved in the operation of the school and to serve the SJCS community.
