Professional Biography

From a very early age I knew that I wanted to work with children. I have had lots of opportunities along the way to do so. Whether it was taking care of my own siblings, babysitting, or volunteering. However, it was when I took a job at a preschool while I was working on my AA degree, that I found the place where my passion for children and teaching would come together. I continued to work in the field as I went to school. I was able to get hands-on training as I worked and achieved my AA and Bachelors of Science degrees in Liberal Studies from De Anza College and National University. I also have an Early Childhood Education Master Teacher permit.

Personal Biography

I'm a born and raised San Jose native who has been able to travel the country. I have worked in the Early Childhood Education field since 1998 and am excited and thankful to be a part of the SJCS community. I am happily married to my husband, Oscar III, and we have three high-spirited children, whom, along with my husband, I lovingly call my “OG3CREW.” Our faith is very important to us as a family, and we serve at our home church in various ministries. On top of that, we do sports, travel, play UNO, and like to go to the movies when we can.

Christian Philosophy of Education

I believe that God will never leave us nor forsake us. He has a calling on each of our lives, and knowing who we are in Christ has to be of the utmost importance when it comes to our faith walk. As a Christian educator, specifically working with preschool age, it is my goal to build a solid foundation in each of my students to know who God is. We can talk to Him and prayer is how we do it. Also, building Godly character traits through learning what the fruits of the spirit are, how to use and grow them within ourselves, and how to see the fruits of others around them. It is my passion, heart, and prayer that God has and continues to give me the grace to plant deep-rooted seeds of faith, love for God, identity in Christ, and the word in all the children I teach. He can then bring people who will water those seeds within these children throughout the rest of their lives.
