Christopher Pinkham

Professional Biography
God has been at work in my life and blessed me with a diverse background of professional experience. I have been the Head of School at SJCS since the 21-22 school year and on staff since 2019. I worked under the previous HOS, assisting with business development and marketing communications. Prior to joining SJCS, I worked with two non-profit organizations (CityTeam and New Generations). During my time with these organizations, I helped drive development through storytelling for international church planting, disciple-making movements, and amazing life transformations through drug & alcohol recovery programs. I also worked with the curriculum development team to create a robust discipleship training program. Prior to my non-profit career, I worked in the high-tech sector for 20+ years and continue to serve on the board of a small software firm. I serve as an Elder at my church home and I serve as a board member for CAPSO (California Association of Private School Organizations). I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing (USF) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (SFSU).
Personal Biography
I was born and spent my childhood in Simi Valley, CA. My dad’s job took us to Colorado during my early teen years before we moved to Morgan Hill in 1989. The Bay Area has been my home ever since. My wife, Karen, and I have been married since 2004 and are blessed to have a son (Jacob) and daughter (Kaitlyn). I have enjoyed coaching youth leagues in soccer, baseball, and softball for many years. I love the outdoors and getting to experience the many wonders that God has created for us.
Christian Philosophy of Education
When we take into account all things that are important, there is nothing greater than our faith in Jesus Christ and God’s saving grace. I believe strongly in building firm foundations, and there is no better time to do this than in early childhood. Proverbs 22:6 tells us, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” According to Barna Research, a research and resource company focused on the intersection of faith and culture, worldview development starts as early as 18 months, and a child's worldview is largely formed by age 13. This means those values which have been instilled in the child in their early years will stick with them their entire life.
This is why I love the mission of SJCS. We start at an early age with our Infant Care Center and continue to invest in the whole child in elementary school and through their middle school years. Our vision is to prepare students not only for high school but for life. Through a Christ-centered education and accountability, we equip them to become purposeful adults who lead with integrity and flourish in all aspects of life.
