Professional Biography

After graduating in December 2023 from Pacific Oaks College with a BA in Human Development, I received my Teaching Credential from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Curriculum Development and a California Teaching Credential. Prior to SJCS, I worked for eight years in private and public schools with children on the autism spectrum and spent one year teaching 1st grade.

Personal Biography

I was born and raised on the East Coast in a small town in Upstate NY. In 2007, I moved to Michigan to start my BA at Eastern Michigan University, where my college roommate brought me to church with her. I was baptized in May 2010! I moved to the warmer weather here in San Jose in 2014 and have loved the amazing weather. I am very passionate about music, and I sing on the worship team at my church. I also play piano and guitar. Music is very important to me. When I am not at school or church, I enjoy hiking, swimming, going to the beach, gardening, and traveling. I have two nephews that I enjoy spoiling as well.

Christian Philosophy of Education

I have the best job as a Christian teacher, where I have the unique opportunity to lead and contribute to children’s spiritual and academic development. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." This emphasizes the importance of teaching children early the right way to live, so they will continue to follow that path as they grow. By employing effective teaching practices, setting high expectations for quality work, and encouraging each student to give his or her all, I may assist students in this way. I love reminding students who they are in Jesus Christ while providing a safe and loving classroom environment.
