Professional Biography

I hold a Master of Education in Elementary Education and Special Education from Grand Canyon University. During my graduate studies, I gained hands-on experience in special education as an instructional assistant at the middle school level for two years. I also completed my student teaching at San Jose Christian School, where I taught third grade and supported students in 4th through 8th grade in the Learning Center.

Prior to pursuing a career in education, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts, with an emphasis in Public Relations, from Boise State University. My background in communication complements my teaching practice, allowing me to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues while encouraging an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Personal Biography

I was born in Idaho but moved to California at a young age, where I had the privilege of attending San Jose Christian School alongside my four siblings. After growing up in the area, I eventually returned to Idaho for college to attend Boise State University.

I met my husband, Trevor, in high school, but we were states apart for college and eventually moved back to California to get married and be close to family. We have a son who also attends San Jose Christian School.

A few things that I love include spending time with my family, traveling, being by the water, and playing or watching sports. We are big Bay Area sports fans always cheering on the San Jose Sharks, 49ers, San Francisco Giants, and Golden State Warriors!

Christian Philosophy of Education

I believe all students are made in the image of God and should be held to high expectations. My classroom strives to provide support for each individual to grow academically, socially, and spiritually.

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Students will learn how to integrate faith and approach hard topics or situations by thinking biblically and being challenged. I believe students learn best when they see others believe in them and can put their trust in Jesus to know that their identity and worth are rooted in Him.

As a Christian educator, I am called to not only teach academic subjects, but also to serve as a mentor and a reflection of Christ’s love. I believe an effective learning environment exhibits grace, truth, and encouragement to help shape students' minds and hearts. A Christ-centered education equips students to pursue the unique purpose God has for their lives, to lead with integrity, and to grow to become lifelong learners who are ready to make an impact in the world.
