Professional Biography

With 3 years of professional teaching in California and over 8 years of experience in the education field, I have had the opportunity to teach students TK-8th. I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood and Family Studies, and National University with a Masters of Education in Educational Technologies. I have taught 3rd and 4th graders at Rocketship Discovery Prep in San Jose for 3 years. Prior to that, I taught pre-kindergarten for 4 years at the University Congregational Church of Christ in Seattle, Washington.

Personal Biography

I was raised in Fallbrook, California and moved to Federal Way, Washington for high school, then to Seattle for college. After graduating from the UW, I moved to San Jose, California for the Teach for America program. I have loved exploring the Bay Area to hike, surf, and eat the amazing food! When I am not teaching, I volunteer with middle and high schoolers at my church and spend time with my pug, Guppy!

Christian Philosophy of Education

As a product of public education, I know the impact that education has on a child. I wholeheartedly believe that Christian schools are an extension of the church. Proverbs 22 tells us that we must "start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." Not only do we teach students critical subject knowledge, but most importantly the heart of God. It is a privilege and honor to steward the next generation to passionately follow Christ Jesus. As a teacher, I will work to instill a love of learning and ensure my students approach their education with autonomy and confidence. God has callings for each and everyone of them, and it is my great responsibility to guide my students to reach their God-given potential in and out of school, now and into the future.
