Professional Biography

After graduating from San Jose State University with a degree in Liberal Studies, I attended Bethany University, in Scotts Valley, to receive my California Teaching Credential. I taught first and second grade in the Milpitas Unified School District for ten years. During my years teaching in Milpitas I organized after-school tutoring of struggling students. I was the support teacher for my co-workers to grow professionally. I also helped bring a standard-based report card to the district and provided input for students who needed support outside of the regular classroom.

Personal Biography

I was born and raised in San Jose attending church with my family. I received God’s free gift of salvation as a girl.  I met my husband at a local Bible Study and we kept our roots planted in the Bay Area. When I am not at work or church you will find me listening to an audiobook while walking my dog, running my teens around town, or possibly hopping into our RV, off on an adventure. I enjoy quiet mornings with a good book and a cup of coffee.

Christian Philosophy of Education

Jesus gave us the first and greatest commandment in Matthew 22:37, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Giving students quality and exceptional education is following this command. God wants us to use our minds He gave us to our fullest capacity. As a Christian teacher, I can help students to fulfill this command by using best teaching practices, having high standards for quality work, and desiring each student to do their personal best.
