I’ve had the opportunity to work with children of many ages teaching multicultural music, and have ten years of experience working with children at Lakeshore Children’s Center in Oakland. In 2014, I received a Bachelor of Arts & Science Degree in Vocal Performance at Grambling State University. Shortly after college, I answered God's call to ministry. For three years, I served at Light of the Valley Church as their Director of Equipping. In June of 2021, I received my Masters in Ministry and Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary.
I am newlywed to my best friend Phille. In my spare time I enjoy screen time, hiking (but not a fan of heights) and sharing meals with friends and family. I love ube pandesal, karaoke and laughing until my face hurts.
Christian Philosophy of Education
Ephesians 2:10 states “ For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” God Himself has created us for a unique purpose: to serve others and glorify Himself. Writer Madeleine L’Engle shares that the creativity of children are “bold and courageous” (Walking on Water: Reflections on Faith and Art).
This world needs bold and courageous carriers of the Gospel and advocates of change. I believe there’s a surge that takes place when children are consistently exposed to the Bible, art and new experiences. Utilizing inspiration, imagination and intellect, there’s no limit to how God might use them in being real world changers!
