In 2017, I received a bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Development, at San Jose State University. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters of Arts in Elementary Education, at Western Governors University. I have been a preschool teacher here at SJCS since 2017. Prior to becoming a co-lead teacher in the Grasshopper room, I was the lead teacher in the Caterpillar room, a co-lead teacher in the Butterfly room, and a co-lead teacher in the Firefly room.
I was born and raised in San Jose, California. In my free time, I enjoy pilates, taking walks in downtown Campbell, and listening to Disney movie soundtracks. Spending time with God, friends, and family is very important to me. I thank God every day for the blessings he has given me.
Christian Philosophy of Education
Through faith integration, my preschool students are given the opportunity to learn about God’s unconditional love, while they are developing subject matter competence. In my classroom we value kindness, respect, and community. Everyday we focus on how God made us all different and that it is okay to be different. This supports young students in understanding cultural diversity, self-identity, and how it feels to be a child of God. I enjoy educating young children about God’s love through bible stories, art crafts, literacy, mathematics, and science.
One of my favorite bible verses is 1 Corinthians 16:14 “Do everything in love.” Our daily actions, thoughts, and feelings, should reflect Godly love towards one another and especially towards God. Regardless of being friends or enemies, treating people with love and kindness helps young learners positively grow.
