I graduated from William Jessup University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, as well as a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. After graduation, I taught in Cambrian, Moreland, and San Jose Unified School Districts, as well as here at San Jose Christian School (SJCS). After substitute teaching for SJCS, and lots of prayer, God's purpose for me became clear as I was blessed with the opportunity to join the SJCS family as the first grade teacher.
I am a California native...like totally! I was born and raised here in the Bay Area and currently reside in San Jose. My family and I attend Central Christian Church in San Jose, and have been for over 10 years. When I am not teaching at SJCS, I am spending time with my family and friends, hiking, camping, paddle boarding, and bike riding.
Christian Philosophy of Education
I believe Christian education must be founded in strong Biblical principles. The source of all truth is God; therefore, it is God’s word that serves as reference for all knowledge. As a Christian educator I base my teachings on the Bible, and provide age appropriate challenges and activities for each student to experience. Hebrews 13:7-8, expresses an appreciation for those who came before us and taught us truth. It also states we are to imitate their faith, and know that Jesus is the constant good. I believe it is very important to not only teach Christ-like behavior in my classroom, but model it daily, to show students what it looks like to be a Christian and follow God.
