Congratulate Our Graduates

We are so excited and proud to announce the academic accomplishments of our teammates here at San Jose Christian School. Please join us in congratulating these two!
Jen Baham | Master of Arts Degree from Western Theological Seminary
Jen Baham, Teaching Principal at San Jose Christian School, graduated with a Master of Arts Degree from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan. During her four years of study Jen attended six week-long, in-person intensives including time at the Three Rivers Hermitage for additional Hebrew study. Highlights of her time at WTS include discovering how honoring our human finitude is a form of worship, growing in spiritual formation, practicing biblical conflict resolution, and worshipping in the seminary community. Jen culminated her studies with a thesis entitled "Reconsidering Shame: Translating bosh for Faithful Worship and Witness." In her role as Teaching Principal Jen sees spiritual, academic, and social-emotional applications from her classwork and experiences. With half of the credits elective, Jen chose classes such as "Pastor as a Person" and "Counsel and Care" which directly relate to her work as both teacher and principal.
"God is so good to have opened this door for me to study the Word, be in community, and grow in relationship with Jesus Christ," commented Ms. Baham on her academic achievement.
Kim Basl | Master of the Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.)
School Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential
Kim Basl, Teacher and Extended Care Director at San Jose Christian School, graduated with a Master of the Arts in Education Degree from Concordia University Irvine. Kim studied for 2 1/2 years to complete the program at Concordia University Irvine. She started the program in January 2018 and finished her thesis in November 2020. In addition to working at SJCS, Kim interned at several schools during her program, such as: Valley Christian High School, Leigh High School, Westmont High School, and Rolling Hills Middle School. Kim feels the experience and knowledge she gained during these internships and her studies have strengthened her as a teacher and future possibility as a school counselor.
Ms. Basl said, "I found after completing my B.S. Psychology that I wanted to work directly with students, not only on a behavioral/social emotional level, but also to help them feel the support they need while they are working through the many stresses they experience on a daily basis. I am extremely blessed by this journey the Lord has taken me on and am excited for the future that God has planned for me."
We are excited to see how God continues to shape and use each one of them for His kingdom work. We are extremely blessed to have them as part of our SJCS Community!
