SJCS is accredited by both Christian Schools International (CSI) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). WASC is a regional agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for accrediting institutions of elementary, secondary, and higher education. Regionally accredited schools must meet a set of rigorous standards that address curriculum and instruction, personnel, facilities, finances, and governance. CSI oversees accreditation of Christian schools in the US and Canada, along with a number of other schools internationally. CSI looks to standards listed above as well as verifies that each Christian school is true to its mission and vision of nurturing God’s children. The school must maintain a program that is consistent with its beliefs and mission as a school and must be committed to a process of continual research-based improvement that focuses on student achievement. Faculty at accredited schools must be well-qualified and involved in ongoing professional learning.
SJCS is excited to be one of only three schools in the country to have dual WASC/CSI accreditation.
