Learning Center

Arlet Veurink is originally from South Dakota. She graduated from Dordt College. She recently received her Masters from San Jose State University. Her birthday is January 30. Her hobbies include singing and listening to music, reading, and she is an avid sports fan.

Jennifer Wisselink is originally from Florida. She graduated from Dordt College. She recently received a graduate level certificate in Educational Therapy from the University of California. Her birthday is April 11. Her hobbies include traveling and reading.

The learning center is a specialized program that provides intense instruction in the areas of reading, phonics, spelling and language to students in grades 1-8. Students experience learning through a wide variety of methods and activities. The focus of the learning center in consistent and continuous small group learning with positive reinforcement and encouragement.

Spanish

Amy Bootz is from San Jose, CA. She graduated from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Her birthday is February 24. She enjoys hiking, running, spending time with family and friends, and snow-skiing.

Students at SJCS from kindergarten through eighth grade are expanding their cultural horizons as they visit Senora Scott once a week. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of the Spanish language.

Uli Meyer is originally from Germany. She is looking forward to working in the library this year. Her birthday is July 4. Some of Mrs. Meyer's hobbies include going to Germany with her family, reading, running, serving as a host to people, and baking.
