After high school, I had a great opportunity to take a contract job at IBM. When that job ended, I decided to go back to school. I attended college and worked in the retail field part time. I then became a stay at home mom for many years, and didn’t return to work until my youngest was in kindergarten. I always enjoyed interacting with children, and this led me to the Early Education field. I started my career working with children in 2000, and was inspired to go back to school and study Early Childhood. I completed my Early Childhood Education at West Valley College, and have worked for the last 9 ½ years exclusively with infants and toddlers.
I was born and raised in San Jose, and come from a strong Christian family. I accepted Jesus as my savior when I was four, and strive to live for Him. I met my husband when we were both in high school, and have been married to my wonderful husband Jim for 28 years, I have a son who is 33, and Jim and I have one son and two daughters ranging in age from 21 to 28. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, bowling on a weekly league, reading, as well as spending time with my buddy Felix (my cat).
Christian Philosophy of Education
I believe that children are a precious gift from God. My philosophy as an Infant Toddler teacher is to love the children unconditionally, and to teach concepts in a way that incorporates God’s word and His creation. As a Christian educator, I try to model respectful and kind behavior. My desire is that every child in our class would feel special and loved, and that they would grow in their knowledge and faith in God as they move on from our class.
