Recently, I finished my degree in Psychology from William Jessup University in San Jose in April of 2017, and I am currently in the School Counseling graduate program through Concordia University Irvine, California. I have had the joy to work with children aged infant-17 years for more than 20 years, leading several after school and summer camp programs. God called me to be a part of San Jose Christian in August of 2015, and I have been extremely blessed as a member of SJCS’s family and mission.
I was born in Salem, Oregon, and moved to California at the age of two, and I have lived in Silicon Valley ever since then. I especially like the diversity this city brings. My daughter, Heaven, attends school at SJCS, and she loves every bit of it. I enjoy camping, singing, attending church, walking our dog, going to SF Giants games, playing sports, going to Disneyland, and spending time with family and close friends at home.
Christian Philosophy of Education
I love when Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” (Matt. 19:14 NLV) Seeing how God has wonderfully made each child, at SJCS we can help them develop their love for Christ. Each child has his or her own skill-set created just for them by God, and I embrace those skills through play, projects, and activities. God has a plan for each of us and I believe He wants me to help bring the Word of God to children in a fun and creative way in Extended Care at SJCS. When we all work together in this process of teaching, guiding, and serving one another, then the Love of the Lord shines through like a “city on a hill”. (Matt. 5:14)
