Mindy Webb

Professional Biography:
I graduated from Calvin College in 2002 with a major in Elementary Education and minors in Art and Spanish. During college, I was captain of Calvin’s Track & Field Team and helped our 4x400 relay team win the National Championship for three consecutive years. I joined the staff of San Jose Christian school in 2003, and taught art and Spanish classes to students in grades K-8 for one year. After that year, SJCS was able to hire two people to fill my role, and I was offered a position teaching 4th grade. I enthusiastically accepted. I was excited to work with my own group of students, and I have been enjoying this position ever since. In March of 2008, I earned my Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis on Technology Integration in the Classroom. This year, in addition to teaching 4th grade, I will join the Technology Support Team.

Personal Biography:
I am an artist who adores photography. I love capturing the emotions and expressions of people around me through my camera lens. I love running too, and have run several half-marathons—as well as a full marathon with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team and Training program. I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan in a family of five. My younger brother, Mike, is currently working on his college degree, while my sister, Annie, is entering her first year of high school. My husband, Harry, is my best friend, and one of the funniest people you will ever meet. Like me, Harry also grew up in Michigan, and we return to visit our families every six months or so. Harry works for an office furniture dealership in Milpitas. We are members of a wonderful church called The Journey. In our free time, we love to travel, go to the beach, and spend time with our friends.

Christian Philosophy of Education:
As educators, our goal is to provide our students with the tools for working productively in the workplace, being active citizens in our country, and adapting to the changing culture surrounding them. As a Christian educator, I respond to all of these goals, while most importantly, training my students to love and serve the Lord. I believe it is my job to equip my students with learning experiences that will inspire them to discover and use the talents God has blessed them with. It is my hope that my students will someday march into their future careers confidently and will use their knowledge, skills, and commitment to Christ as tools to succeed in an ever-changing world.
