San Jose Christian is part of the Bay Area Christian Schools Athletic League (BASCAL). Both our league and our school use sports as a positive way to promote strong Christian leadership, sportsmanship, and Christian education. We hope that through involvement in athletics our students will develop positive Christian relationships with their teammates as well as with athletes from the schools in our league.

Hi Tigers Fans,

Thanks for your interest in athletics! As Athletic Director, I am incredibly proud of our student-athletes, coaches, and community. It is a joy for me to see our kids grow not only athletically, but spiritually and emotionally through our program. It is my hope that all of our students at SJCS get the opportunity to participate in one or more sports before they graduate.

The boys made school history on October 29 by finishing 2nd in the BACSAL league playoffs. After winning the South Division, the Tigers went up against the champion of the Central Division, Prince of Peace, in the semi-finals. Highlighted by great defense and timely plays, the Tigers took the lead late in the game when Matthew S. connected with Evan H. for the game winning touchdown. Jake K. sealed the deal with a sack to send the Tigers to the championship! The boys fell 13-6 to El Sobrante in a hard fought championship game. A HUGE congratulations to all the boys for a record setting season. Thank you to all the parents and fans who came out to support them throughout the year.

Saturday, October 29, our division champion girls softball team gave a great effort in the league finals. Their only loss of the season was in a fierce battle against Tabernacle Christian. Out of the 22 participating schools from the Bay Area Christian Athletic League our girls represented well and finished in 3rd place. We would like to thank the 8th grade girls who led the team with sportsmanship and grace.

On Friday, November 4, the SJCS Cross Country Team wrapped up their final league meet at Oak Hill Park in Danville. Our team of 9 runners raced against runners from 13 schools with a total of 223 competitors. The race trail was along rolling, green hills, spanning just over a mile long. Congratulation to the SJCS Cross Country Team for finishing the season strong!

Please contact me if you have any questions about athletics. While you’re here, don’t forget to check out the schedule and come cheer on our students!

Go Tigers!
