To begin the Admissions Process, please submit:

• Completed application forms Student information - one required per student; Family information - one required per family
• Report cards from the previous 2 years (2nd grade and older)
• Standardized test results from the previous 2 years (2nd grade and older)
• Immunization Records
• Application fee per family -$150.00
• Readiness screening / Grade placement testing fee if needed - $100.00

Developmental Readiness Screening

• All new students entering Jr.K through 2nd grade are screened to determine the child's developmental age.
• Minimum developmental ages (DA) when school begins are:
• Jr. Kindergarten - 4.5 years DA
• Kindergarten - 5.2 years DA
• First Grade - 6.2 years DA
• Second Grade - 7.2 years DA
  

Grade Placement Testing

• All students entering 3rd grade or higher whose standardized test scores and report cards included with the admissions application do not consistently affirm grade placement.

To complete admissions

• Parents schedule an interview with an administrator
• Completed enrollment contract signed by both parents
• Enrollment fee of $200.00 per student

Admissions Policy

San Jose Christian School believes it can most effectively carry out its mission and goals when its efforts are balanced with effective spiritual nurturing in the home and in the church. Consequently, SJCS primarily admits students whose parents (guardians) provide this balance. The spiritual nurture in the home and church should be consistent with SJCS' Statement of Faith. When this is not the case SJCS may admit students whose parents (guardians) are striving to achieve this balance.

The academic readiness of applicants will be reviewed for acceptability and appropriate class placement. Final application acceptance is contingent upon mutual agreement by SJCS and the parents (guardians) as to the appropriate class entry level.

Once accepted, continued attendance at SJCS is subject to the student successfully maintaining the standards set forth above and in the student policies, as well as fulfillment of the financial responsibilltles identified in the SJCS Financial Policies.

When admission is not in the best interest of the school or the applicant, the board may deny admission to an applicant. SJCS does not refuse admission of students based on race, color, national origin, sex or handicap.
