 SJCS 50th Anniversary Celebration a Huge Success
On Saturday April 17th, over 300 people gathered on the SJCS campus to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of our school. Those in attendance were treated to a catered BBQ lunch and a program featuring a band and choir made up of alumni and members of the broader school community. Volunteers worked tirelessly to construct a 100-foot pictorial timeline of the school’s history, which allowed everyone the chance to reminisce about just how far San Jose Christian School has come since the 1959-1960 school year.
 Don Jamieson and Al Kosters, both prior administrators at SJCS, along with current administrator, Dan Meester shared their thoughts on the significance of the school’s mission to train young people for service for the Lord and God’s faithfulness in helping us stay true to that mission in the face of an ever-changing culture. Mrs. Jennifer Baham, our music teacher and band director, also reflected on the blessings she has received from San Jose Christian School during her years of service.
The 50th Anniversary Celebration gives all of us an opportunity to remember that in the midst of our individual experiences with San Jose Christian School, we are actually part of something much larger than ourselves—a shared commitment to Christian education that spans generations. We are certainly thankful for the strong foundation laid by the school community of the past, and we commend our current teachers, leadership, parents, and students for carrying on the work of academic training and spiritual formation that is so important for our young people.
